Merry CHRISTmas everyone,
I love this month. All the pretty lights are out. The smell of Christmas cookies is in the air. Yes, CHRISTmas is almost here! This year, I'd like us to think about Christ's sacrifice. I mean, Jesus being a part of God the Creator coming down to be born and live among the created. How crazy of an idea is that?! Jesus gave up everything because of His love for us. We, too, should be willing to give up everything for Christ, even if it hurts. So my challenge this year--instead of just focusing on getting that new game you wanted, or maybe those jeans that look so good on you, or maybe it's a new gadget of some sort--focus on and serve Him! Maybe you could give a gift to someone to whom you have never given a gift, maybe it's someone you don't know, or maybe they are a neighbor. But my challenge to me and to you is to give a little more this year, whether it's an actual gift, or an offering, or serving someone.

Merry CHRISTmas!

Here's what's coming up in December:

December 7th: Regular SMYD (11:15 am-12 pm) and Youth Group (6-8 pm).

December 14th: Regular SMYD and for Youth Group we'll have our Christmas party. Central Pres will be joining us. Bring a wrapped, white elephant gift (something that you have at home that is under $10 and/or that you don't want anymore). As always, make sure it's Jesus-appropriate, and not just trash. Oh, and no, your siblings do not count as a white elephant gift.

December 21st: NO SMYD--CHRISTmas Pageant; Youth Group--TBD

December 22nd: Afternoon of games (board, not video), 1-3pm.

December 28th: NO SMYD or Youth Group.
