Music

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing. Psalm 100:1-2

  • Chancel Choir

What a wonderful way singing is to praise our Creator and show our gratitude for all the gifts we have been given. Singing can bring us into God's presence, as well as bring us hope, comfort, peace, and joy.

The Chancel Choir helps bring the congregation into God’s presence through singing. Each week the choir offers an anthem and leads the congregation in singing during Sunday morning worship. Typically, the anthem is chosen to complement the sermon topic and the theme of the worship service. The choir is an integral part of the worship experience at Westview.

All joyful singers are welcome to join the Chancel Choir. The ability to read music is helpful but not required. Choir members work hard to deliver a beautiful anthem each week, and they also support and care for each other. Choir is a wonderful small group! Please come to a Wednesday rehearsal if you are interested in finding out more about the group.

Under the direction of Director Adam Bishea, the Chancel Choir rehearses each Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 pm, in the Gathering Place, and then again at 8:45 am on Sunday morning before the worship service. Choir does not meet during the summer months.

  • Youth Band

Westview’s Youth Band leads worship each week during Youth Group. The band rehearses weekly before Youth Group and offers popular Christian songs with a lot of energy and praise to God. If you like to sing, play an instrument, or jump and dance to the glory of God, then Youth Band is for you!

Occasionally, the youth band also helps to lead Sunday morning worship for the entire congregation, particularly on our Youth-led Worship Sunday when the entire service is led by youth.

Westview has a number of instruments available to the Youth Band, including a drum set, an electric guitar, an electric bass, and a keyboard. Chris is always looking for youth interested in praising God through music. If you would like to give it a try, come to a youth group meeting or contact Chris Kirschman, Director of Children's and Youth Ministries, by This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. • Bell Ensemble

The sound of bells being rung, trilled, plucked, malleted, and table damped is a unique offering to God. It is a real treat for the congregation when the bells are playing on Sunday morning. Hand bells are performed by a group of musicians each responsible for one or more bells, working together to produce the beautiful combined sound.

Westview maintains five octaves of handbells and three octaves of chimes for use by our bell choir and ensemble. The bell ensemble assists in worship on several occasions throughout the year.

Membership in the bell ensemble can be a short-term commitment. Before playing during worship, the ensemble meets several times to rehearse each piece. Bell ringers can choose to participate in any or all offerings, depending upon their individual schedules and interests. If you are interested in becoming a member of the bell ensemble, please contact the church office at 303.776.3242.
