Volunteer Opportunities:

Join us for a pincic on the shady west lawn (tables, chairs, and screened canopies provided). You are invited to attend and bring your family, friends, and neighbors.
On July 21, the Community Supper will be hosted by the Hurianek family. Noah & Sarah and Dennis & Nancy will be serving:
Pulled pork sandwiches, Baked beans,
Cabbage-carrot slaw, and
Chocolate chip cookies
Volunteers and Donors: Please look for the sign-up sheets in Fellowship Hall on the two Sundays before each Supper.
We are looking for a family, group, or individuals who would like to host the August meal. You will have members of the committee to "shepherd" you. And, you'll have available to you sample meal planning/donation forms, volunteer sign-up forms, set-up & serving procedures, and a list of great volunteers. Please see Dennis or Nancy Hurianek to express your interest.
Oureach Ministry Area: The Round Pantry at Westview
The Round Pantry continues to grow (200 households registered) and to perfect our guidelines for operation. Each time the pantry is open, we distributed approximately 4,000 lbs. of food.
Our opening hour (2:00-3:00 pm) is a very busy time! Shoppers may begin lining up at 1:00 pm (not before!); and those who are in line at 2:00 pm already have to wait. We continue to streamline operations to decrease the wait time, but we encourage shoppers who can to arrive later (4:00 pm is a nice, calm time). Choice food items (large juice bottles, cakes & pies, baking supplies) are periodically replenished and staple food items (for example, canned fruit & vegetables) are shelved in adequate supply for everyone. We have recently repositioned some of our shopping tables to encourage selection of the most healthy foods first.
Although Community Food Share (CFS) continues to supply the bulk of the food, generous donations from Westview members and friends are providing important items that are not always available from CFS. These donations include items such as peanut butter, cereal, juice, canned meat, and tuna. Our Father's Day collection contributed 30+ pounds of meat! Donations of all kinds from our congregation give our shoppers much appreciated choice in the selection of foods.
Westview members are providing the labor and love critical to operating a successful pantry. If you would like to volunteer, sign up in Fellowship Hall each Sunday - look for the Round Pantry! Or, contact the church office to connect with the Pantry Planning Committee. Volunteers are needed:
- every Monday afternoon, 4:00-5:30 pm, to help sort and shelf food from CFS
- second and fourth Mondays, 4:00-6:00 pm, to help set-up Fellowship Hall for shopping
- second and fourth Tuesdays, in 1 1/2 hour shifts (or longer if you like) to
- greet and sign-in shoppers
- assist shoppers
- replenish food supplies for shoppers
- sort and bag food
- carry food bags & boxes to car
The Round Pantry is open to members, friends, and neighbors--ANYONE in need of food assistance. It is open twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Round Pantry summer dates are: July 13 & 27; and August 10 & 24.
If you have any questions, please contact the church office to get connected with one of the Pantry Planning Committee members listed below. THANK YOU for your prayers and continued support for the Pantry!

Deacons Ministry: Helping Hands
Sometimes we hear about a member of our church who needs a hand with some minor chore around their house. Would you be willing to be one we could call to help? We would like to have a list of Helping Hands. If this is something you can do, please let your parish deacon or the office know and we will add you to our list.
