We are a community
…joyfully seeking and sharing God’s Light.
This is God’s vision of us and the vision for us to grow into.
Our Identity:
Westview is of the Presbyterian tradition, and known in Longmont as the Chocolate Chip Church because of the shape of our four connected “pods”. There are over 70 churches in the Longmont area, some very prominent in the news, but we would like to share something about us:

We worship in a sanctuary – (not an auditorium) recognized as a holy place where God meets us. |

We sing traditional hymns for they contain words of such inspiring depths and yet…. |
|
We sing new songs that draw us ever closer to God. |
|
Children are a part of our worshipping community. Sometimes that is hard for parents but we hold that they belong to God as witnessed in their baptism and are fully loved and are a part of the Christian community. In fact children are known by name here. They have a safe and loving body of people who come to know others in Westview as an extended family – brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, and grandparents. |

We recognize our diversity in issues and value the freedom to ask questions and explore life and issues without judgment. |

We just try to keep in mind that we aren’t the center of things (so much of modern religion is just that!) – that center belongs to Jesus Christ. There is none other that we have come to know and on whom to turn for life. |

We are more about grace, community, freedom in Christ, and loving relationships than doctrine and hard rules.

As we have known for years and as reflected in our vision, we enjoy God and the wonderful light/blessings received through the Spirit. We are here for each other’s sorrows, illnesses, and celebrations. We are here as seekers, uniquely on a Christian spiritual journey of formation and transformation. |
We invite you to come and be our guests. But more than that, to come and join a movement of the Christian faith that we stand for as described in part above. There is so much church intolerance and moralizing spilling over into the public domain. We want to reclaim the good news of Jesus and pour out the graciousness, compassion, and the joy of God. Come and seek and share with us…… God’s Light!
